Spot A Young Moon After Sunset Tonight

The thin lunar crescent appears in the twilight glow this evening. To see the pretty sight, find a place with a good view to the northwest. Created with Stellarium

I apologize for the late notice. I’ve been working on a new book about the sky and completely lost track of time. I just wanted to alert you to tonight’s moon, just 2 days past new. You can watch for it low in the northwestern sky starting about 45 minutes after sundown. A pretty sliver of a thing. Watch for it Monday night, too. The constellation outlines in the map above are more for reference than anything, since the sky will be bright at that hour.

Clear skies!
